Getting Practical With Game

Care for Wild Africa in conjunction with Pharm4game once again proved themselves as a great source of information regarding the practicalities when it comes to breeding with wildlife.

The Wildlife Emergency Treatment Workshop – held in Pretoria on Wednesday – was a phenomenal success, with a wide range of topics which varied from Causes of wildlife casualties and wound management to practical sessions with dart guns and wound treatment.

According to Pharm4game Director, Yolanda Blacquiere, the event is at this point in time scheduled to be hosted on a monthly basis with current and relevant discussions concerning various aspects of the wildlife industry.

Topics such as “What can be done in cases of injured wildlife,” by Dr Johan Marais and “Handling and Restraint of Wild Animals as non-chemical alternatives,” by Petronel Nieuwoudt were the centre of discussions, with insightful contributions by wildlife vet Dr. Stew de Wet.
