Key note speakers will enlighten at the WRSA 2015 Gala Dinner

The extensive Scientific Programme will be made of sessions addressing the most important topics facing each of the species.

We have Specialist Advisory groups in WRSA addressing these issues. We are extremely proud of the guest speakers: Professor Wouter van der Hoven, the world famous, well-travelled South African wildlife academic. Dr. André Eggen, who obtained his PH.D. in animal genetics from the Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland and Quinton Coetzee, a well know motivational speaker who use nature as his theme.

PROFESSOR WOUTER VAN DER HOVEN: EMERITI PROFESSOR, WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT, UP

After thirty years as a distinguished academic and researcher in Wildlife Management at the University of Pretoria, Prof Wouter van der Hoven retired in 2012. Dr. van der Hoven served as an Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria since 1989.

He is an accomplished scholar in the areas of wildlife management and the African landscape. He is also a founder of the Noah’s Ark Project in Africa, an organization responsible for the repopulation of large animals (i.e. elephants, hippos and lions) in areas devastated by drought, war or poachers.

In addition to authoring over a 100 scientific publications, reports and chapters Dr. van der Hoven has served as a consultant in community and extension projects in Africa, Europe and the United States. Dr. van der Hoven received Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Science degrees from Potchefstroom University.

QUINTON COETZEE

Born in the Namib Desert, Quinton Coetzee spent most of his childhood in the African bush. He began his working career as a hunter and then later attained a degree in the natural sciences.

Today he is considered one of South Africa’s leading bushcraft specialists. His passion for adventure has taken him from bitter sub-Antarctic regions to the scorching deserts of the Middle-East.

He has summited the highest ice-peak in Russia and has lived with ‘vanishing’ tribes in in Africa, the frozen wastelands of Outer Mongolia and the sweltering jungles of the Amazon basin.

He is a frequent resource in print and on radio programs such as “Aardwolf” and 50/50 “Veldfocus.”

Quinton’s business message has universal appeal – he has addressed audiences in more than 30 countries worldwide. His talks assist people to tap into their natural potential… to improve their business skills and performance… and to gain a better understanding of themselves and others.
